Sorry Paul but you lost me there.

I think what Paul is alluding to is there are a certain crowd of people who give their snakes names and Paul would like to see a picture just in case it has not been named so he can suggest a name. Bob Clark is big on names. Fluffy? Here is my snake cuddles and Peaches.

It kind of depends on your definition of a 'ratsnake'.

Oocatucus rufodorsatum (formerly known as Elaphe rufodorsata) is a live bearing species from southeast Asia. It has a semi aquatic lifestyle, and feeds primarily on fishes and frogs, although in captivity they do take small mice.

And then there is Coronella austriaca, the Smooth Snake from Europe. Also a live bearing species, but this one feeds primarily on lizards, athough this species too can sometimes be persuaded to take small mice.

So is it a Ratsnake or not? Phylogenetically, they belong to the same Tribe. So if you consider 'ratsnakes' as a Tribe, then there are at least two ovoviviparous species of ratsnake.
