I have an 03 28lb BCI female that i put with a male at the beginning of the year. I noticed courting and what looked like a couple copulations, but it was hard to tell.

Anyhow, I marked her POS at 5/15/07 and didn't see much growth thereafter, nor thermoregulation. Over the past few days, she has swollen up really nice...she is definitely gravid...but i've only seen her on the heat very seldomly...btw...i have the heat at 90-92 degrees, with an ambient temp of 83-84.

I've had gravid females before and i've always seen them on the heat most of the time...i was wondering if boas that are gravid with slugs tend to not thermoregulate that much, or am i just over analysing this??

Some do and some don't! I had one female slug out on me this year 24 taters and she acted like she was gravid the entire time.

Some do some don't. I would say about half and half. That has been my experience.

I just had the misfortune of a female giving birth to 2 babies, one still born, and 18 slugs. Worst litter ever!!! Anyhow, she was on the heat a lot throughout her gestation, and she did go back and forth alot. SHe also soaked in her water a ton throughout her pregnancy. She swelled a ton and looked like she had good babies in her like most of the other females that have produced all viable young?? I would say it is hard to say?? Good luck.
