Spoke to Robert McDonald today, head Regulations Coordinator, TPWD. He has given permission to me to pass this info along.
All wardens were given order within last few days to cite herpers along roadways who are looking for snakes, herps. Fines will be misdemeanor as before. If you are there get ready to be searched if pulled over. Mr. McDonald suggested finding private land on which to hunt. Some miscommunication has occurred recently about dates- changes to nongame stuff( box turtles,etc.) will be taking place Sept. 1. This part of hb 12 is effective immediately according to the Regulations Coordinator.

The only exclusion that will be given for anyone wishing to shine cuts will be for those in possession of a scientific breeder permit with that particular taxa listed on the permit itself (lots of paperwork!)

I guess I'll have to find private land to hunt for my vacation in July!

I thought it was not to be enforced until next year.

I also thought that it could not be on the books until Sept 1st because that is the way things work in the real world.

I think we have so much bad info getting to this point that we should not give up yet. It may not be in effect despite what one official says.

Lance, NEVER GIVE UP! What the hell is that kind of talk. The Kingsnake police trashed my post from ealrier because they thought my feelings were a little too strong!! My feelings will not change! EVER!! I guess they just can't handle stright up in your face talk! I see they haven't bumped Tanks post off yet. Why was mine so bad??? I don't believe I spelled out any cuss words etc. Whoever is monitoring this forum, get a life bud! This is a real life fight for us. Get used to it and quite being little Hitlers!!! We are getting screwed and we are not going to take it! Kingsnake.com of "all people" should be backing every herper on this forum, NO MATTER WHAT! By the way, Hittlerbrant can still go to Hel*!!! I am in the running with Tanks. Bring your as* out there TPWD! You know where to find me. I will be there!!! and bring your little poster boy Hilderbrant too!
