OT, but does anyone know of anybody in the US who is able to ship Appendix II animals into Canada?

I finally found a pair of snakes I've been looking for, but the seller cannot ship over here. However, he is willing to ship to someone who can.

Too complicated? Not worth it?

Advice?

Thanks,

You could have them send the snakes to me in Wisconsin and I could smuggle them over the border... lol. Seriously though, I've looked a tiny bit into what it takes to ship to Canada and it looks like a lot of cash and work. I personally don't know anyone who can ship, but I hope you can find someone.

Sorry... I really was no help at all! lol!

Hi Tim, I live in Madison. Yeah, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of us here.

Have you seen this site yet? It's really new and still being developed. http://www.wireptiles.com/

Do you ever make it to the Madison reptile shows?

Danielle,
Contact Don Patterson. You can find him under the Businesses section here on KS.

I don't know him, nor have I dealt with him (other then admiring his animals from a distance). I do know that he is in the land of the mounties and maple syrup though.. and also know that he imports alot of cities animals into Canada - and exports a lot of animals into the US.

He might be willing to help you in exchange for a fee to cover his time and efforts.

Good luck!!

Tim

I have a similar suggestion though not a specific name.
I'd do some web searching for breeders/supliers of protected animals in Canada to get their help/advice.

I don't know the names or if this is the same protection classification(I'm in CA) but I know when I was looking into Gila Monsters and certain other restricted reptiles I found multiple breeders/supliers up in Canada. I specifically remember a Canadian breeder of multiple varieties of Gila but I do not remember which other restricted animals I noticed breeders in Canada for.

Sean.

Thanks for all your help guys. I think I'm going to e-mail around here and see if I can't stir up some information on the Canadian side rather than going through the hassle of creating a "snake train".

I'm sure I'll find what I'm looking for over here eventually, It just means I may have to rethink and restructure my breeding projects in the meantime.

Danielle,
..Check out the Canadian classifieds
market.kingsnake.com/index.php?cat=71
Prehistoric Pets in California seems to be exporting to Canada. Perhaps they can get animals to you. There is also a Canadian dealer advertising in the Canadian classifieds.
Jeff
