You can keep it in a carboard box.
Will it thrive and be healthy? That's a different question.

Hello,
A peachthroat is a large monitor or at best a medium, not small species... If you are intent on keeping one then yes you can start a juvenile in a cage even smaller than that but you must provide space as it grows(if you want a healthy, sane lizard). As Kap was edging at- the other environmental factors that you provide are going to be more crucial. What will be the composition of your enclosure? Will it be structured and completed in a manner that supports life? Dig a little deeper than just the dimensions... Curious here. Best to you- Mike
