Feeding Time

dmasio13 Jun 22, 2007 08:36 PM

Well its kind of snake related. I brought in some rats (in the blue tub)to feed some of my ball pythons and the wife as you can see in the back of the pic was putting away groceries and asked me to do something real quick so I sat the tub down and went to pick it up to take to the snake room and my wifes kitten Brutus, and my old dog Conan are enamered with them.

Just thought the pics would be funny. Thanks for looking

Cute! My cats always check out the rats, but my dogs are too lazy. Hey, do you keep your rats in that setup all the time? How did you make it?
Thanks,
Shelly

Yeah...I like the rat tub too. As for cats...I sometimes sit the rat tub down in the kitchen on purpose so the boys can have some entertainment.

That kitten is adorable!

2 of my cats are obsessed with feeding day -- they know exactly what's going on and hover at my feet, waiting for me to drop a mouse or a rat so they can go after it. One of them spends so much time staring at the holding tanks, that I made him a permanent bed there...

Here is a pic of the rat tub I only have a few like this that I breed them in for the most part I use them only as a transport from the garage to the snake room. But its a storage tub from WalMart that I cut a hole in the top and staple gum the 1/2 inch wire mesh to, its pretty easy and simple. I went to the rack system because I was tired or replacing the tubs about once every couple of weeks because of them chewing through.

And this is a big galvanized watering trough from Tractor Supply that I use for rats that I buy at the shows for feeders and for any overage that I produce until feeding time rolls around. Thanks for looking

I like the watering trough idea. I may give that a try. I keep my breeders in lab cages, but I was looking for ideas for grow out cages. The lab cages are so expensive, I hate to use them for raising up the feeders.

Thanks for the idea,
Shelly
