and the girls sure didn't like it! They sat peaking out the end of their tunnels for about 3 hours today before they came out.

I like those tunnels, what do you use for them? I'd love to try something like that, although so far Gizmo seems to be much more of a climber than a digger.

I used sewer pipe tubing from Wal-Mart and a Tuperware container. Cut a hole in the side of the Tuperware and fit the tubbing into it.
Tubing cost about $10 for 30 feet.
The ladies will not use any of the other hides.

I did that ages ago with my uros and they've just loved their tunnels. The only time I see any digging is when my female is getting ready to lay her eggs.
