Warnings issued in Sanderson / Langtry

LBenton Jun 23, 2007 11:08 AM

Just spoke to Roy and asked him to post details.. But it has started and there is no question about it.

One warning was issued and several other people were pulled over.

After a single warning citation you will get the real thing if you are "caught" again. I do not have the details on the conversations that warranted a warning vs no paperwork. But I would advise anybody pulled over to not say what they are doing, it is up to the officer to actually observe any violation and not question intent. If they do ask to search the vehicle get some details from them before proceeding:

1 - what are you looking for?
2 - would it be illegal in any way if I had it?
3 - then why would you bother to look for it?
4 - could he please explain his PC for the search

and if you have a voice recorder or digital camera with movie mode, record the whole transaction, all we need is the audio so do not worry about lighting and be sure to get the LE to state his name into the recorder so he will now acknowledge and know that he is being recorded.

At this time, I think the prudent course of action is to compile a list of attorneys to contact for representation if there is a case of overzealous law enforcement, or an unwarranted citation. Can somebody in Texas PLEASE do this for all of us? THANK YOU.
