Overseas Shipping?

chad-hulker Jun 23, 2007 12:09 PM

Hey everyone, been here a long time but actually have a question now, lol. I have had inquiries to ship snakes overseas but have never agreed to do it. What needs to be done legally to ship live snakes out of the country, and is it safe? (long travel time) Any info would be greatly appreciated. Good luck to everyone!

Call a licensed importer exporter and ask them for help. Itll usually cost you actual fees ( 450-600.00 plus 10% of your gross invoice . Itll save you 2-6 months of headaches and paperwork.
otherwise
get a import export license 100.00
wait to get it back - 1 month

send in a CITES application 100.00
Wait 2-6 months to get it back

Call a Customs broker to export and have your paperwork and inspections done 200-350.00

Get a health inspection 90-150.00

Ship Via Airlines to destination coordinated with foreign customs and fish and wildlife service( cost 200-?? depending on size and weight of shipment.

hope this helps..

Thanks Michael! The info is much appreciated. I may consider it eventually but i'm too small to deal with all that red tape. Keep up the good work!
