Male corn having 'fits', what to do?

Hlynn1975 Aug 17, 2003 04:27 PM

Hi all,
I got an adult female snow corn today and as I was putting her in her new home I noticed my male corn across the room had started to thrash about and wrap itself into twists and curls. I have never seen him do that before. Is it a sign he's sick? Or was he trying to display for the female corn? If anyone's seen anything like this I'd appreciate some help, I can't call my vet until tomorrow but I'm concerned now.
Thanks,
Heather

I would be willing to bet its b/c of your recently added female to the room...depending on how old or mature they are...they can give off pheromones or scents to attract opposite sex...their sense of smell is pretty strong so your female could simply be driving your male 'crazy' so-to-speak....if you're worried then move your female's setup into another room for a little while and see if the male calms down at all. Though, it never hurts to contact your vet either, especially if you added a new reptile to your collection...remember to always quarantine them!
GOOD LUCK (& post a pic if ya can)

I should sell my adult female snow before I kill her too.
