My caught alligator lizard

JonathanVP Aug 17, 2003 05:23 PM

I finally had time to post a picture of my caught alligator lizard. I was extremely lucky to have caught her (she was sun bathing near my pool) and I am trying to catch another one. Any ideas on how to catch these without getting bit?

I try and grab them behind the head so they can't twist around and bite me. But they usually do anyway. Its ok, it doesn't hurt unless they grab a sensitive spot (like the skin between your fingers).

Yep LOL . I had a large male once . Very aggresive . He bit me so hard one day between my thumb and finger that he left an imprint and one of his tiny teeth did draw blood ( it was so small you would almost miss it ) . Most do tame down in time and really do make super pets and can be tought to eat out of your hand .

Bitten? Its not getting crapped on that's the real trick!!
