Rocky outcroppings in Jasper Co, SC ?

tobias79 Jun 24, 2007 03:52 PM

Dear Corn Snake fans

I am from Denmark and have no South Carolina relatives or friends to ask this rather odd question:

Does rocky outcroppings occur in Jasper County (coastal zone in South Carolina)?

Although it might seem like a strange and scilly question, the reason I ask is because I am soon about to make a large natural looking vivarium for locality corn snakes from Okeetee area in Jasper Co. And so, I thought it would be funny to "copy" a piece of a Jasper Co. forest floor into that vivarium. But unless large pieces of rocks occurs in the wild in that area, I won't put pieces of rocks in the vivarium.

So, hopefully someone who knows the area of coastal South Carolina is reading this.......

Regards,
Tobias Valentin

I've hunted many times in Jasper county, and I can assure you that I've never seen any kind of rocky outcropping there-it's all flat-as-a-billiard-table land dotted with swamps, pine flatwoods, and sandhills.

Thank you very much for your answer.
I will put no rocks in my vivarium then!
