Hi there,
I have a question. I have been keeping snakes a long time and probing them for years and years. I just got what is supposed to be an adult pair of Brooksi. I probed the first one and it went to about 8 scales deep. I figured that was the male. Then I probed the second one and it went to 16-17 scales deep. I went back and probed both agai on the other side and got the same thing.comparitively it would seem that I have a male and a female but this seems awfully deep compared to other kingsnakes I have owned. anyone know if this is usaul for Brooksi. I have had males that probed deeper before but this seems really deep for a female. any advice is appreciated. I can't find a good reference for probing depth on these particular kingsnakes. thanks, Ed.

2 males.

Unless you used a sharp probe and went through. I have seen people do this on females and if thats the case,.. it will be a year for it probes female again.

That is what I suspected. Probes are not sharp and I have been doing it a long time and I am very gentle. Thanks for the info
