on may 30 i traded a snake for a boa..... noticed the boas has a kink.
she also was having a problem shedding. and then i find out she has a respiratory infection...................

she also seems to be dehydrated.

we got through the shed. now working through the ri.

now the kink has me concerned because i only see limited movement of her body past the kink.

i am posting a few pics so you can see the kink and give me any suggestions to what i should do.

the whole sad part of this is i feel like the snake was abused , from what i gathered she had been in a few different homes.
and even through all of this she has the sweetest temperment.

Do you have a local herp vet? If so, take her in. She is undoubtedly dehydrated. I would be very concerned, as you are, with the kink...seeing as how there is little movement past that point. Just my .02
Good luck.

i agree withthe other poster, a trip to the vet is in order, im guessing some radiographs and nuro testing. also, if these ics are POST shed, she is malnourished/dehydrated/some other crazy thing going on, shes far to dull to have just shed, id almost think shes too dull even if she was blue there.
good luck and keep us posted!!

well i have gotten her an appt for later today, this was the only vet here in town who i could would even see her, but he will refer me else where if he has no idea what to do.

she shed 2 weeks ago. and it was a very bad shed.

thankx for the advice, i will post tonight after i find out more from the vet.

I wish I had a picture, but I've seen much worse constriction or 'kinking" in snakes that do well afterwards. My best guess is it is the remnants of constrictive internal scarring. I'll third the trip to the vet, which it looks like you're doing, but my opinion is to prioritize the other conditions.

ok she went to the vet.............

the ri is gone. she is severly dehydrated, were working on that.

they took an xray of the spine, the vet says it looks like she was shut in the tank top, she does have limited movement past the "injury"

he did tell me if we could get the dehydration fixed she should do ok.
