I just thought I would drop by and show you guys a couple more pictures of my new Beardie, Dimmel. And a picture of his new home.
For anyone who might be curious...
I have him in a 55 gallon aquarium.
I built a nice little basking platform with a ramp for him.
Over the ramp I have a 75 watt ZooMed basking bulb which maintains a constant 105 degrees on the rock.
On the right half of the tank there is an 18 inch fluorescent fixture with a ZooMed Reptisun 5.0 bulb and on the far right there is another dome light with a normal 60 watt bulb just to add a little warmth to that end of the tank. This light is actually positioned off the right end of the tank and shines onto the rock on that end. The rock stays at a nice 85 degrees. The rock in the center of the tank maintains 82 degrees and under the ramp on the left end of the tank it is 78 degrees.
This gives him a very nice temperature gradient.
Those are all daytime temps, of course.
When I turn the lights off at night the temp drops to an even 74 degrees accross the tank.
There is also a UTH to help maintain evening temps.
For feeding I put a fresh mix of romain lettuce, kale, collard greens, mustard greens, grated carrots and grated sweet potatoes in his food dish every day ( which he loves) and I feed him crickets twice a day.
He gets his calcium(d3) supplements on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule. When he reaches adulthood I will drop this to once a week.
So, now you know a little more about Dimmel and his home...
here are the pics
