OT, where I dissapeared to last week....

rainbowsrus Jun 25, 2007 07:00 PM

OK, these are not from last week but are from the same lake doing the same things in prior years:

Slalom skiing, my favorite, quite a rush

Barefootin, yeah, skiing with no ski's

gopher snake I caught

hanging out in boat

riding the air chair

Kids tubing (my youngest in the middle)

Hanging out by the campfire (The love of my life on the far right)

im the guy who pulls the chair closer i have this lil problem with fire lol every one i know turns to me for a fire it was bad one day me and some buddies went out one night and decided hey lets call some ppl and have a bon fire well it started to rain some then stopped needless to say we were in the middle of the woods and everythign was wet i was laughing my a$$ watching them grabbt he wettest thigns trying to start a fire once i stop dying from laughing and put my "cough" bottle down i got one hella bon fire goin maybe about 20'X20'X who knows how high lol it was all controlled and trees far enough away i had to move before we started the fire tho i dint think middle of trees plus big fire would work.

ps. i never ever use any gas or any thing like that to start a fire all naturlay baby well maybe a lighter to get it goin lol

rainbowsrus Jun 25, 2007 11:10 PM

Accelerants are for woosies. I use a lighter (one match would suffice) and one small piece of paper. the rest (as you well know) is slowly increasing size of wood pieces, stacked in such a way as to allow air to flow freely through the pyre.

rainbowsrus Jun 25, 2007 11:38 PM

Always reminds me of survivor. What a lame A$$ show, or at least lame contestants. Who in their right mind would go into a situation like that without researching the basics like how to make fire with nothing but what's found in nature?

Looks like you had an awesome time Dave! You are making me look forward to my vacation even more! We always go to a cabin that my husband's family owns on a lake up in the mountains of northern Idaho. We will be renting a boat and attempting to ski. My husband is actually pretty good, but he hasn't gotten the barefoot thing down. I will have to show him these pictures. He will get a kick out of it!

Well Dave the Cheeto Bros. are looking real good and Tahoe ain't no slouch either. Now all you need to do is transfer those Tahoe pics over to your collection page and Casper is looking pretty "Super" I think

Bob,
..We have seen Timber Rattlers on our hikes. I kind of consider them to be the premier reptile we see in the Smokeys. There are always lots of other herps to see.
