Please Help with Repair of Worn Shell

bvpham Aug 17, 2003 06:57 PM

I have a large female leopard that has a very aggressive mate. Her back scutes have been worn away and there has been a small amount of blood seen intermittently. The areas appear noninfected and she is eating well. Any advice on the repair of the damage shell, ie - method and materials to use. Thank you in advance. Binh

I'm not sure on how to repair her shell, but she should see a good reptile vet. Make sure you separate her from the male, things have obviously gone too far. If you are concerned with breeding them, from what I've read on this forum, introducing her to male a couple times of year might give you better results than leaving them together all of the time.

I would clean the area well, and use iodine to disinfect it. Try and keep it clean.

My thoughts anyways
