A Future New GTP Owner With A Question

darklighter Jun 26, 2007 01:20 AM

I am looking at buying a GTP yearling from Ross at Spruce nubble (you may remember me from the Lazurus Long quote) and am looking at using an exoterra enclosure. I know that I will need to cover most of the top with Plexiglass to trap heat an Humidity. I also plan on using a small heat pad under the tank to help keep the humidity up and a heat panel on the side. But are there any suggestions on how to mount a removable perch to the glass. I really do not want it to lay at an angle for the bottom to the top. I am planning to have several at diferent heights so that the smaller sanke can move up and down. Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated

Although I do not like the Exo Terra's for chondros, you can mount plastic closet rod mounts (found at Lowes or Home Depot) to the sides with aquarium silicone. Just make sure you let it dry for at least 48 hours before moving the critter in. If you ever decide to use the cage for something else, the silicone can be removed with a razor blade.
