Shedding........how often

Sidney0805 Jun 26, 2007 10:15 AM

Hey Everyone!! It's been awhile since I've been on here. I guess since my garter, Lacey, started to shed, back, I think, around the middle of April. She did shed, without any problems within a week or so back in April, but my question is.........
How often do they typically shed? Last week she started refusing food and a couple days ago I noticed her eyes are that bluish color. Is she shedding again too soon or is this normal? She is a wild caught eastern garter. I caught her last year about the end of October. I am just figuring that she is eating good, and regularly since I got her, so she's growing more and needs to shed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as usual!!

Thanks,

Cyndi

they will shed when they shed... 4 or 5 times a year give or take a few--the only time to be concerned about shedding is when the old eye caps do not come off during a shed

Yes, I was nervous about that the first time she shed. I've been keeping an eye on her and hopefully she won't have any problems this time either. I just didn't know if it was normal to be shedding again so soon!
Thanks for the reply!
