Animal Plastics are nice cages, BUT Boaphile's pricing INCLUDES shipping, and they come shipped fully assembled. Something to think about, especially if you are as busy as I am and don't have the time to assemble a lot of new cages.

Both of those cage sizes are too large, unless space isn't as issue to you. The snake will probably enjoy more space, but it certainly isn't necessary. Most carpet adults will do fine in a cage that measures no more than 48" x 24" x 12".

Large rats are plenty of a meal for them as well. No need for bunnies.

agreed on everythign said in previous post but i prefer the 18 tall cages they look better for carpets and every carpet i own enjoys the perches

Coastals I keep in 48 x 24 x 16, but the Jungles seem to like the height of the 24" tall cages.

I am sure I sound like a broken record...but...lol

I always think that 4x2x2 should represent a minnimum adult cage. I don't think that it is a 'waste' at all.

Even my huge female coastals perch more often than not. Jungles never come down from their perches.

That should have read 'MY jungles never come down'- not trying to imply all jungles perch all the time.

Given that you will only be dealing with one cage and one animal(for now) the added perching room will be ideal, just as the others have stated. But I also have a mixed ratio of animals that like to perch, and others that never do it at all. So I rarely use tall cages.
