boa update (Ian, mostly for you)

po Jun 26, 2007 07:59 PM

got the asparate back.
findings: reactive/hyperplastic lymphoid tissue with mild granulomatous inflamation

pathology is thinking spleen or node,
2 vets who dabble in herps are thinking granuloma due to the broken ribs and appearance on rads, another vet who sees reptiles but is not an "expert" is thinking spleen, the local"exotic specialist" has never done an Sx on a snake, so i didnt even try her after finding that out.
my friend who is a herp vet, but not in practice right now, still feels she is a poor Sx candidate, and thinks it cancer, he just didnt asparate deep enough, but now that i have assured him i wont hold it against him if she dies, he has aggreed to go in and try. he is her best shot...its going to be A. if we can cut it out, lets see if she recovers, or B. if he cant cut it out hes putting her down then. i told him ok, it sucks!
ill be at my clinic about ten miles away, having to work while the Sx goes on, id love to be there, but ill be to upset and dont want to distract him, shes going in fri, luckily, im off sat, cuz if she lives ill hold her all day and if this baby dies, its going to be a hell of a hangover.
ill post an update with the outcome and if we run any pathology or anything
if you could throw some mojo to "baby D" thast would help too!!
