I understand all of the concerns about sitting back and waiting while we hope this thing gets fixed. I share that concern and temper it only because I have been involved in some of the behind the scenes activity. I wish everyone could be and I agree that more should be. Joe has been coordinating an incredible effort with a multipronged approach and contingency plans. The simply fact is that much of this activity MUST remain in the shadows until a more appropriate time. Putting all of our cards on the table will severely compromise our efforts.

Please try to be patient and have some confidence in Joe and the many others that are involved in behind the scenes efforts. Joe has been around this hobby for a long time and he has a pretty good handle on things. If you want to be more involved, have suggestions, complaints, or concerns, I’d suggest emailing Joe directly. Just keep in mind that he is EXTREMELY busy with this project (and his life) and may not be able to respond immediately.

In closing, I offer a final promise:
If we continue with this diplomatic approach and Todd K or Hilderbran or anyone doubles back and burns us again, the furry we will unleash will be MUCH more extreme than anything they have seen to date. They are at a crossroads and their next step will determine if they can win us as allies OR incur our unbridled wrath. I believe that they regret their prior path and want to change direction.

but, really the cards ARE on the table we have been delt our hand. the only option "we" have is to expose how HH,ESTES and others thwarted the texas legislative proccess. this NEEDS to be shown to everyone, these guys took an ammended bill and broke the law! thus dealing the hand thats on the table. personally i hope they are thrown out of government along with this STUPID law! put up, shut up, or fold simple thats how the game is played,,,,,,,,,,,thomas davis

Quite frankly, these Tx politicians and LE threw the first, second and third punches.

At this point, they think they have won the fight.

Being nice is just playing into their hands.

It is time to start raising money and planning an attack.

My guess is that "they" would be shocked out how much money we could raise and how ugly we could get.

They started this and we need to finish it.

One, unless it is important do not call Joe, we do not want to run his cell phone bill up just to find out “what is happening”. Only call if you have information that cannot be shared fast enough. Also, remember that he is getting a whole lot of emails and he is reading it, but he is not able to respond to everybody on everything, it will not be right away, have some reasonable expectations for the volume he is dealing with.

Two, and this is the big one to file away for thought. We are working HH and his office as a first step in the process. This will without a doubt down the road involve other legislators and members of TP&W. If we make good with this first step and come to the table in good faith and ready to work, we can make lots of friends up there. This will position us for a real voice later and a way to fix things now.

Done was done, everybody knows what happened and how. The fact is that we made enough noise that they have to listen to us. Now it is time use our “indoor voice” and take full advantage of the fact that we are being listened to. If we continue to throw fits then we will end up being ignored.

So in short, file everything you know away into memory and let us look forward at making a solution happen. Nobody has forgotten how we got here…. Let us not waste what we have and get back to hunting for snakes.

this is what joe was talking about. joe asked everyone to mind their p's and q's. threatening someone with your wrath is not what joe had in mind. our mothers said, if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all. i'm sure that "smart" applies as well in this situation. if you want to rant and rave, find a forum buddy to do it with via email or telephone. you're potentially causing damage here.

I agree, even though I have much the same feelings and am not one to back down. If nothing else, for Joe's sake and all the hard work he has done so far, we need to follow his lead and trust what he and others are working on. Let's just cool our jets, at least for the time being...

I didn't threaten wrath. I was stressing that we should try diplomacy for now. The mention of "wrath" was describing our response IF they are just trying to string us along and burn us again. Please read my post again if you are still confused.

in your post you threatened wrath. I kmow what a threat is and i also know the meaning of wrath. i wasn't confused the first time i read your post and was not confused the second time i read it. and wether you realize it or not you confirmed the threat with your follow-up post that i am now responding to. i have refrained from casting aspersions regarding you or anyone else, i am just responding to your posts as they were written and intended. they are very clear, and so are mine.

I'm pledge to work with Todd K and HH and encouraging others to do the same FOR AS LONG AS THEY WORK WITH US.

The closing statement about "wrath" was CLEARLY a notice to them (and a pledge to those herpers that are reluctant to work with them) that our cooperation with them is CONDITIONAL and if they burn us again, the gloves are off.

understand???????? i can't believe that i have to resort to the text book defininition of the word threat to eplain to you what a threat is, but here it is..........THREAT: an expression of intent to inflict evil, injury, or damage. An indication of something impending........... Do me a favor please, go to the dictionary yourself and find the textbook definition of the word "WRATH" and if you have a clear understanding of the English language you will understand that you made a threat. While you're in the dictionary, look up the word "OR" as well. Now you've gone and made me cast aspersions. I'm sure that word is in the dictionary as well. Please make a new post if you wish to reply as you're out of fuel on this one. Eby is right and I applaud all of your hearts. We will get things straightened out and will also count coup if they blindside us. We are in a great position to change Texas forever, and by God we will do so for you and your kids and their kids. Trust Joe in this. He has been there for us a loooong time and continues to be there. Also remember that he has a family, so keep your calls and emails brief and to the point. They should not suffer time away from him because of this. Be calm, y'all!
