lafferman Aug 17, 2003 09:33 PM

i had to get super worms cuz the store was out of mealies. how are supers nutrition value as compaired to mealies. my adult leos love supers ever since i began feeding them the supers every night at 9 they walk to the bowl and wait for me to put some in. are they a staple food or maybe something i could just put one super with lots of mealies to get them more interested in eating more mealies or who knows. thanks

I breed both supers and mealies. Superworms have more meat to shell content than mealies and I think a more elevated Calcium to phosphorous ratio. They're good as a support for a basic diet. I've always used mealies as my basic.. but I'm breeding superworms now and am working up a colony of those to supplement the mealworm diet. My adult female loves the supers.. but my adult male won't touch em. He likes his mealworms.. won't even go after crickets.. personally I think he's just lazy and likes slow moving food. Fast food doesn't agree with him *L*
