Is crypto common but often...

...undiagnosed in herp collections? I've been doing some research on it, and it seems likely that many herps have crypto, but suffer no ill effects from it. (Please see my post below, also.)

There are many strains of crypto, and it indeed can be carried without disease. However, it is not one of those parasites that is often found, and then ignored because it's in minimal amounts with no symptoms. I honestly don't know how often snakes have it without symptoms, but do know there is no cure. Therefore a positive animal really needs to be kept quarantined and coddled so stress doesn't allow parasite numbers to multiply. The good news is that if your snakes indeed have it, there is still hope for a long happy life for them.
