no food in 7 months??

ballfreak Jun 29, 2007 06:55 AM

i have a ball that is 700grams and has not eaten in 6-7 months? prior to this he was eating live rats not mice. im thinking should i try to feed hem a mouse since he has not been eating in a while? also have another ball that is about the same size and hasnt eaten in 3 months and likes to box his prey. i mean she will hit and let go hit and let go? i hate that cause shes bound to get bit and ive tried dead and she does the same thing hit and let hit and miss and then hit and let go??? if these snakes just ate when ever we feed they would be the best. any suggestions?? thanks everyone.

even after 10 months here I gave up and don't worry anymore..they eat they eat......they don't they don't.......

just try and feed every couples weeks or so.......they will sooner or later....actually this month all of them started I think except one........

....some eat the same prey items ,some switch for some reason here...but I use gerbils,AR,mice, rats, chinese hamsters....

........keep trying.........and make sure temps and humidity is all correct.......sometimes thay are too hot sometimes too cold......

I have notice that all of mine have been off and on here, I ma in pa and the weather has been up and down here, we go from 90's to 70's my snakes are not in ac, and when the temps are up they eat good, when the temps are down they do not eat. They have heat but the outside temps I think do effect them. Just an observation.

even though I am in a cellar room.....it makes a difference at times...........not always..some just eat and some just don't...but barometric pressure and temp outside can matter

today......he last ball ate that hasn't eaten ...in 7 1/2 months......het pied male from PK.......it took a gerbil.........

........they all eat sometime..........

this year I decided to try something different to snap some of mine out of the fasting.

I read this link years ago about dealing with WC that won't eat. I decided to try part of it so I blacked out each cage(of the non eaters) for about 5 days or so.

After I removed the blankets I tried feeding them about 2 days later and all 3 ate!

so just something random you could try out
