It would be really interesting to establish a photo gallery of released Alterna. Each released animal could be catalogued with 2-3 photos, date, location, and conditions of the capture and release. Then everyone could check their new finds against that gallery for any repeat encounters. Given the unique appearance of most Alterna, no special marking (clipped scales, pit tags, etc) would even be needed.
Of course it might be best to delay posting the release data for a few days (or longer?) AFTER the release so that folks don’t just swarm the release sight.
