No one answers e mails and queries?

Snake_Charmer Aug 17, 2003 11:35 PM

Hi all.
I don't mean to be mean or seem like an ass, but:

Over the last month and a half I have e mailed 3 seperate breeders who post regularly and are well known on this forum about possibly purchasing snakes from them. As of yet I have not heard back from a one of them, yet 2 of them have posted new hatchling pics since I mailed them. I will not name names as I don't wish to stir up anything nasty
If you guys aren't interested in selling your animals, or they're already sold or something, the least you could do is mail me back and tell me that. The reason I have mailed the 3 in particular is because I am looking for something unique, and all 3 have posted pics of or have written posts about having such animals. All 3 also come highly recommended, which is a plus to me as I have been ripped off terribly when purchasing online in the past.
Sorry I had to post this here, but I couldn't think of any other way to maybe get a response from you guys! Now go check your e mails! lol

I'm not defending you or any breeder in particular BUT:

I answer 99% of e-mails that I RECEIVE, and more than likely I answer e-mails within 24 hours unless I'm out herping for a few days, etc.. and can't be by the computer. But as a breeder there have been times that I do respond to e-mails:

* those that ask about products that I do not carry

* those that do not address me/or company name personally

* those that don't tell me who they are (like your name)

* those that are rude (I usually just block their addy)

* those that appear to be SPAM

* those that appear to be wholesalers who sent the same e-mail to hundreds

* those that ask me if I sell Ball Pythons (for example) and how much they are when they obviously haven't been to my web site to see what I have

I treat e-mails like I do if someone is calling me or is ringing my doorbell. Show me some respect in your request Like who you are - and who am I? and you get it back, blow me off in your request and you get that too.

There are times that I DO NOT respond to e-mails....

Kerby:
The e mail I sent you was a query about your albino high whites and about albino spotted, striped or patternless kings. As far as I remember it was very polite and I did indeed address you by name and sign with my own name, under a big 'Thanks!' at the bottom of the mail.
I'm not mad, just wondering why 2/3 ppl I mailed didn't respond. I do understand that there are certain ceircumstances that can stop ppl from responding, just figured I might get you guys' attention if I posted something here
I will try mailing you again soon.
Thanks!

Maybe it was me ???? I get tons of emails all the time and I try my best to answer them but sometimes they slip through the cracks. If it was me I apologize in advance.

Keith

I too have e-mailed and not heard back from some so-called quality breeders!

I've been breeding snakes for over 10 years ans STILL take the necessary time to anwser ALL e-mails/inquiries.

You big boys return your e-mails....

I was down in Florida for the Daytona Florida Expo which since tuesday. It is the largest show in the world and if you are a ;arger breeder is is a good idea to be there. It is once a year and when one has no lap top it makes returning any emails very difficult. Also I checked my emails but it was on a hotel computer and cannot sit and answer all emails.
This discussion went on between several breeders and ways to solve the inquiries on the internet. I for one did not advertise before I left but that did not help the 100 emails I had waiting today. The time down there is VERY busy for vendors. I took the week off and the hotel only allowed me a couple minutes at a time on the computer . So its very difficult.
Any ideas on how to solve this yearly event for people who make customer service their #1 priority but cannot get to a computer would be appreciated.

...about 20% of the people who email me via this forum have an invalid email acount once I try to reply to them. Check to make sure you have the right email stored in the kingsnake.com system with no typos....or it might not be all of their faults that you didn't get a reply....lol.
