Nice finds! I'm guessing these were somewhere in the AR/LA/TX/OK/MO area? That narrows it down a bit. I'm in AR and am currently searching for streckeri. My luck in finding wild crotes is generally abysmal, but we found a horridus a few weeks ago that gave me some hope. Here in AR though, streckeri populations are so sporadic it seems to be purely the luck of the draw to find one.

Chance, MO locality. They can be quite common in places but like you said the populations are sporadic. Clark
