Black-tails

DanW Jul 01, 2007 06:24 PM

Does anyone have a good care sheet for Black-tailed Rattlers? They are my favorite crots but I hear they have difficulty acclimating in captivity. I also hear they are very difficult to breed. Can anyone clear these up for me? I had a pair a while back that did well but showed no interest in breeding.

Thanks,
Dan

I have Molossus, they are pretty easy to care for, make sure they have a good hide box, and they eat best (at least at first) on gerbils.....just dont tell PetSmart what you plan on doing with the gerbil....

I've had a few stubborn molossus in my time, but I've NEVER had one turn down a gerbil...eventually you can get them switched over to f/t rats...

Keep them pretty much as you would an atrox....

You may also try covering the cage during feeding....this has worked for me with nervous snakes...
