Best Enclosure For Adult Corn

amoeba14 Jul 01, 2007 09:08 PM

Hello, I have a 3 year old adult corn that is kept in a 20L tank. I'm beginning to think this enclosure may be to small for her? I thought about keeping her in my Animal Plastics CB-70 rack however and not sure if this is to large.

Any thoughts, suggestions, tips.......etc.......are greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

T

How big is that other cage? It would be hard to come up with a cage that is too large for a cornsnake, especially an adult one. Now if you are talking about being able to find her and get her out, when she is hiding, that is another story. The more room they have, the faster they can go!

You didn't mention the size of the snake, but if it's less than 4 feet, a 20 gallon is fine.
Captive snakes spend a lot of their time not doing much of anything.
If you handle your pet regularly, you're probably better off sticking with what you have.

She is probably in the 3.5 to 4 foot range. The 20L gallon tank seems to be fine for her (she's under one of her hides most of the time) but she does come out to cruise from time to time. She likes to climb and explore..............so I wasn't sure if placing her in my CB-70 rack was a good idea. Yes she would have a lot more room to cruise.........but........she would not have the height to climb.

If the 20L tank is fine........I'll keep her in that. Simply want her to have her in the best enclosure possible.

Thanks again,

T
