Femoral Pores (my wife pulled the waxy..

...build up out.)

I have no idea what she was thinking. But she was helping our male get rid of some excess shed and was rubbing the waxy buildup in the pores and some of them fell out. She then decided to massage about 75% of the rest of the pores clean. None of them were bleeding when I looked at him, and she said none of them bled when she pulled them out, he just has little holes in his legs now. I assume it will eventually return, but should I be worried about any possible infections that could get in there?

that sounds crazy. don't do stuff like that anymore. never heard of such a thing. take a pic.

My first thought was about his substrate. I imagine sand could too easily get in there and cause irritation. If they do regrow or build up wax again, I would put him on paper towels or newsprint for the time being unless he's already on tile or something. I've never had experience with anything like that though. Do the holes go deep into the tissues? Or is it more like a deep crater with normal skin? Or just dimples? Hopefully nothing gets in there - a picture would be interesting to see. Keep us updated on if they fill up again.

It's more like little dimples or depressions. I will hopefully take some pictures tomorrow and upload them.

maybe retained shed is making it look worse than what it is.I hope.

Dont worry about it. Itll come back. As long as the animal is acting normal. I seen and heard of it coming out on its own before. You shouldnt pull it out though.
