Greasy stool (bci)

joeysgreen Jul 02, 2007 11:18 AM

Does anyone else ever get super oily, fatty stool on occasion that's terribly difficult to wash off the cage, fixtures, and snake? Unfortunately mine just had one, perhaps the second time it's happened (not subsequently), and then regurged it's rat while it was moving around uncomfortable, presuming it was avoiding this greasy substance.

For additional information, this stool movement wasn't at all expected as the regular stool from the previous meal was way gone past. I'm trying to sort out if this is an occasional normal irregularity, or if it's related to other problems this snake has had. It's medical history includes an unlikely, but possible carrier of IBD, and an unknown but serious skin condition which has resolved to the best of my knowledge (only scarring left).

Any thoughts would be cool, thanks,

Ian

the only time ive had a boa with greasy stool it stumped me for a bit then i linked it to a little bit of mineral oil i had used for an eye cap, must have gotten a little bit into the mouth, it made a HUGE MESS and couldnt have been more then a drop or two. if you haven used anything on the snake, maybe something to do with the last meal?

sadly it was the boa from my last few posts, ill post more on that after the pathology comes back, and i stop crying
