OT: Be aware of www.boxturtlesite,ORG

PHBoxTurtle Jul 02, 2007 03:45 PM

I know many of you do internet searches for box turtle info. Please do not access www.boxturtlesite.org. That was my old website, but 7 months ago I had to move my website to another hosting company because the old company was not providing good service and even let the domain name expire for several weeks last year. I had to contest automatic credit card fees as the only way to get their attention since they would not answer my emails and did not have a published phone number (that I could find) to cancel my account.

Now suddenly and mysteriously, there is something nasty trying to download when people visit the old site. A java script trojan called "js/sillydlscript.co" tries to download to people's computer. More details of this trojan if anyone is interested is at:

The point is: this is NOT my website anymore. I am at www.boxturtlesite.INFO. If you ever go on a turtle website that still has my old website on it-please let me know.

If anyone ever had to deal with something like this-let me know how you handled it by private email. Thanks, Tess

Thanks for letting us know. I double checked my boxie bookmarks and deleted the ones to the old website. For those of you that haven't done this you might want to update yours. Also, I have reccomended Tess's site in the past to other groups. If you have doen this also, it would be good to let them know as well.

I'm glad you still have the information out there on the web, Tess, under the new address. I have benefitted greatly from reading it in the past and like to be able to refer to it when I have a question.
