I was thinking about buying an AFT gecko and was wondering what kind of temper they have? Will I be able to pick it up without it trying to bite?

They are almost exaactly like a leopard gecko. Exept they aren't and they look different. You can hold it easily without it biting you. Actually the chances of it biting you INTENTIONALLY are about 1 to 100
From my experience they are even more mellow than leopards. You can go in and pet them on the head and stuff they wont even budge. Great gecko. I'm not sure, but all the ones I've dealt with have been slightly larger than leopards as well.
Yeah. They are great lizards.
I have leo's and fat tails and fat tails are by far the calmest and easiest to handle. They can book though if they want to. Once my daughter who is 9 was holding one of the females who was not interested in moveing to a new tank and she ran up her arm and through her hair lol.. had to be quick. Thats the first and only time I ever saw my fat tails move like that.
