worms in poop?

shadowmonkey01 Aug 18, 2003 03:45 AM

I was changing my ball pythons cage today when I found his poop, and it had little worms around it. ther were probably 40-50 little crawling things. I have never seen any like this before and he is almost 2 years old. Is there a possibility that they are not from him but from something else, or do I need to get him to a vet right away. Never delt with this kinda thing before so kinda confused, please give me some advice. Thank you in advance.

It NEEDS a vet NOW! Odds are if it was an old poop, it was from outside sources. Which also means you need to take better care of the cage if poop is allowed to sit and get worms. If it was a fresh, your python probly has worms, and it needs a vet asap. I'd advise you to get it help either way to be sure. Can you get pics?

It isn't that old only a few days at most. Is it possible for my other snakes to get anything from him. They are all in seperate enclosures but all in same room.

A few days old? Poop shouldnt be in a cage and longer than necessary (a day at the MOST). Maybe you should check on your animal more often?
