Excessive Urination.

AshLopez Jul 02, 2007 11:57 PM

I Recently Purchased a Farm Bred Surinam.

I have had him two months now.

He acts normal in every sence.

Flicks tounge, has good muscle tone ,thermoregulates and sleeps.

He just drops excessive Urates. He does it every other day.almost every day.

He has done this since I got him.

They do not smell or look foul in anyway.

I know this is not normal.

I searched all my literature and could not find any answers.

Has anyone heard of this Disorder ?????

Any help would be apreciated. Ash Lopez

In people and dogs it's frequently the presenting symptom of diabetes, which must be backed up by blood tests for blood sugar levels.

blood tests are in order to make sure the innards are all working properly. May be a kidney thing.

I've been treating a big albino for a while, and she started with that frequent urine stuff, and it smelled stronger to boot. Tests revealed Uric acid levels were very high. We had to stop the meds for a while and start SubQ fluids to help aid.

Hope that's helpful
