Butter X creamsicle babies?

wolfwoman Jul 03, 2007 10:05 AM

Hi,
I posted a while back about what would come of a Butter and a Creamsicle.
Well the babies have started to hatch. They are adorable! This is my first clutch.I just don't know what I should call them. Here are a few pics, most are pink, a couple look like the creamsicle when she was a baby. Should they be called amels? maybe creamsicles?
What do you guys think?

Any amel morph of a corn X emory is a creamsicle, even if it's only 1% emory.

Some creamsicles look like amel corns because they have so much corn genetics (red) in them that they lose the pale, creamy orange coloration that was intended when this morph was originated.

Tim is correct. If they have ANY emoryi blood in them they should be labeled as such. The name Creamsicle lets the buyer know what they are getting. BTW it looks like you have some snows in there as well.....

I have seen several people simply call them butter creams.
This denotes butter and creamsicle.
But definitely keep the creamsicle part.
keep us posted on their progress.

Thanks for the answers. I will be keeping a couple but I will definitely mention creamsicle when I sell them. How long do you normally keep babies before selling them? I'm not sure how I am going to chose the ones to keep. I know what the snows will look like, but for the others it is harder to tell how they will come out.
Decisions! Decisions! : )

Hey Suzanne,
Are there any of them that just catch your eye as looking a little different or just seem to stand out?
Maybe more yellow or more orange, depending on which you may prefer, or maybe a more even coloration throughout. Just whatever may catch the eye.
It varys from breeder to breeder but I personally like to get at least four or five meals in my hatchlings before offering them for sale.

That is what I was thinking, waiting at least a month before selling.
I figured by then they will have had a shed or two and I can pick out the ones I think will look the best.
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.
