So Gemstone just shed (pic soon maybe), and he's eating like a horse... He's even got fat over his hips! All he's eating is green beans, spagetti squash, some apple, alphalpha dust, and supplimental calcium/vitamins... Yet, he's getting fat! lol!
When should I worry about cutting the amount of food he can have? We're putting him in a different cage soon (from a 40gal breeder to a wire cage twice the size with alot more opportunities of fun for him) since the new burm needs that one until HIS cage is built... So tons going on! I think we'll have Gem's cage on top of the new burm's cage when it's built so as he can get some natural sun from the window in the bedroom. We'll see. It's in the mid-90s tho, so it won't be for a couple months (must cool off first a bit). But he's happy with the UV light and everything. He also plays games with my male collared lizard from their cages - Gem will tip his head if Jewel does, and turn around or jump together too... I think they would be good friends is Jewel didn't outsize Gemstone 2:1!
I love my animals...
