HATCHLING GECKO SKIN LOSS!!

Angela134 Jul 03, 2007 12:02 PM

One of my little geckos that hatched a couple of days ago is now missing large patches of skin and has a damaged eye! I can see her skull! Her belly is also wounded. There is nothing in the habitat that could have hurt her this way or any other geckos. Can she be saved? I have no idea what is going on, should I have her put down? I'm so scared for her!

unless she is eating her own skin, probably crickets or other insect. Check to make sure no loose crickets are in her cage. If she really appears to be suffering, humane euthanization may be your only option. A trip to a vet wouldn't hurt either, to make sure infection isn't setting in.
