Confusion. What is happening?

OHI Jul 03, 2007 01:14 PM

Joe and All,

It seems like things are getting real confusing.

First HCU was going to work with HH now they are not?

Now, we are drafting letters to the Govenor against HH?

Joe wants to screen all letters?

What are HCU's postions? What is the plan with HCU?

Don't get me wrong I am just trying to understand what is going on so I can help. I do herps full time now so I can spend lots of time working on what needs to be worked on. I will admit that I am a little hesitant because HCU's positions are not known. A united front would be best but I don't know where my views fit in with HCU's. Please let me know.

We just caught press of HH being in the running for the helm at TP&W when Cook retires.

Now, this was not brought up in the meeting that Joe had Todd K. that btw HH did not attend himself. As a simple ground work meeting that was not a big deal at the time. Now it seems like they are less than serious about resolving the damage done with HB 12.

The meeting itself was not bad from what I understand, but it was just groundwork with nothing agreed on except us to back off on the anti-HH campaign. What there seems to be a problem with is that his bid to head TP&W was not disclosed in that meeting with us and that would have had some impact on the way we would approach him.

I think the fear is that we are being blind sided with his intentions and just do not know if he really means to help us.

Maybe we can get a blurb added online like a press release of our own?

I want to make certain Representative Hilderbran is going to help us. If he is not serious about helping us, then we will be very serious about making sure he doesn't get the TPWD director position.

He is far a lock for the position anyway. I wouldn't say he is a lock for re-election either though.

that HH didn't even show up for the meeting! That, along with the fact that Todd K. "failed to mention" HH's candidacy for head of TPWD, throws up a HUGE red flag for me. Unfortunately Joe may be right on in his suspicions (particularly considering past history with this office), and we need some kind of gesture from that camp that is in some way substantive-not just a soothing voice on the phone or email.

Failing that, we should oppose him for the position with everything we've got.

Representative Hilderbran, enough is enough, are you going to help us or not?! I will be sure that my vote and voice are heard when the time comes. I also urge you to phone Joe Forks personally to get this going. I hear the sounds of engines being revved in the background. Thousands of fingers tapping keyboards, faxes and copiers humming. Do the right thing, be a man and step up to the plate. We are trying very hard to work with you on this issue. I don't think you are trying very hard.

"Representative Hilderbran, enough is enough, are you going to help us or not?!"

HH snuck in, in the middle of the night and whacked us in the head with a political baseball bat and you guys are curious if he is going to help us or not?

I am afraid that many of you are having trouble deciphering the forest from the trees.

HH has HH's future political career in mind and he obviously thinks that pushing a PETA agenda is going to help bolster his career.

Herpers are his enemy.

I would be chuckling at you guys if this was not as serious as it really is.

I've been talking to a lot of people in Austin and things are not a rosy as they may seem. I can't paint the picture for you here on the forum, but I can say a lot of things are up in the air right now.

Yes, vision, I am serious. His people read this, I am hoping that a man can be a man, and admit a mistake. What are you doing on your front?

For what it is worth, OHI clearly has a dog in this fight. For you to not use him for whatever he can offer would be a huge mistake IMO. For those that cannot see that, it makes me wonder what your agendas are. Are there some of you out there that are sympathetic to the HH and TPWD's cause??? If so please come out of the closet so we can know who you are. At least this man (OHI) is clearly taking a stand, he is not wishy washy nor is he willing to give up the rights taken away from us.

I have never met nor conversed with OHI, I simply recognize that he can contribute.
