Still no babies - baby guess bump

liquid-leaf Jul 03, 2007 01:14 PM

Still waiting. The BCC Female (I've named her "Foo" went opaque and her eyes just cleared, so she'll shed very soon. Perhaps she'll give birth (if there's anything in there) when she sheds? I haven't really heard of shedding that close to birth.

Anyway, supposed to be rain tomorrow, we'll see again. I think if she sheds without having babies, I will start feeding her small meals again. Or should I still wait? Today is day 123 POS.

Here's the list of guesses.

She will probably start dropping the minute you pack your bags! Have a great vacation.

Good to hear that - she shed successfully last night with a little bit more waxy urate, no babies. Hopefully the weekend will bring something. I'd never heard of females shedding so close to the due date (though I know it's not uncommon to have one or two shed cycles during gestation).

She looked too big not to have babies in side. They will be out before you know it. Keep your chin up and good luck!

I had a female het blood boa give birth on th 4th of July that went 101 days post ovulation slough. She shed twice during gestation. Once about 2 months after post-ovulation slough, and then again 7 days before she gave birth to 12 healthy babies, no slugs or stillborns.

Gives me hope! Boa breeding does seem to force one to become more patient. Geez, if I'm this nervous about my boas, wonder what I'll be like if I ever get pregnant myself! Heh! At least I won't have to shed. Still nothing as of today. She was stretched out yesterday for a while and her weight did seem further down, but now she's coiled up again and hard to see.

These better be diamond babies for the wait... well, I'd settle for chocolate if I didn't know what else has passed through that tract... sorry. Must be getting Boa (Waiting) MADNESS...

Thanks again to everyone who have let me know that boas don't like to play by our timetables, even though most do follow the 105-114 POS guideline.
