Diablo - my blotched king

apocalyp Jul 03, 2007 10:33 PM

I've been lurking on these forums reading all the advice given for all sorts of questions for a year now after a got my king.

I thought I'd show her off a little. Yes I did think she was a male when I got and named her. She's 1.5 years old now and 40" long. She just doesn't stop growing. I've got her feeding on 2 adult mice a week and I have fed her a small rat once. Mice are just easier for me to get at the moment.

Here are some of the pictures I have of her.

I'm in Ottawa, Canada.

I got her from a reptile zoo in town here "Little Ray's reptile zoo"

He had to special order her, so I'm not sure where he got her exactly. I'm relatively new to keeping snakes this being my first.

Does that snake look like an Eastern x Florida hybrid or a Goini x Eastern hybrid?

It does not look like any Goini I have seen --- but I am not saying it isn't. Just asking the question.

I found this fem in a pet shop, I don't know it's history,I think it looks a lot like yous, it's also about the same age and size.

That's a typical goini (which IS a natural intergrade).

Chris, after looking at the pic's again I am not so sure.

Also, what do you mean by it "IS" a natural intergrade?

It's a natural intergrade of getula and floridana.

That's accepted herpetology. That's all I was saying.

I'm not slinging mud, I have enough in my own eye .

Plus, I like them a lot. I have 2.4 myself from Len Krysko.

That one in particular is a typical example of an adult "goini".
