I just got an IJ. This time I immediately sexed it. But this is also quite confusing because:
1. It is almost 2.5 feet in length (Weight unknown).
2. I am using the Midwest Probing Kit that consist of 6/8 proball tip and 2/8 without proball tip.
I used the second (from smallest to largest) proball tipped for my first attempt and got 6 subcaudals for both sides but the dead end feel of female pockets were present (no springy feeling). Just that it went quite deep. While I only got 2-3 subcaudals when using the third proball tip (from smallest to largest) on my second attempt. Unsatisfied, I decided to pop the IJ. I popped various pythons before but this is the first time I witnessed reddish purplish dots without anything protruding out. Infact, there was only 1 side with such trait while the other one lacks it. I dont think I did it wrongly because I even managed to pop larger snakes than this before such as a 3-5 foot burmese python or a reticulated python, especially when they were agitated and started to spray urine and other nasty stuffs.
So, I do need some feedbacks because from my experience, I did come across few males that were actually females after I re-checked them. Most of my suppliers either dont know how to probe or probe only one side of the cloaca, which in my experience is not reliable at all because while males are usually uniform in their probing depth, the females are not. One side of the cloaca may be probed deeply while the other side may be probed very shallow. Also, I used to come across a table of probing depth of various pythons in the Internet some time ago. I cant seem to locate the information any more but from my memory, carpets do have deep probing depth, even if they were females.
Below is the picture:

What sex do you think this is? I am leaning towards female but feel free to correct me.
Thanks in advance.
