Help. My gecko's one eye is crusted over and looks like there is no longer an eye there, and she also seems blind in the other eye. This is sudden, and she has had no problems int he four years i've had her....Our vet is great, but not knowledgable about geckos.

It is okay to find another vet specifically for your gecko, I'm sure your mammalian vet won't mind

With that advice, I agree that it should be taken to a herp savy vet, and soon to get treatment started. In the mean time, you can softly clean the discharge with a damp cloth or paper towel. Avoid being to course or ripping of dry discharge that might tear the soft tissue underneath.

Good luck with your gecko,

Ian

i agree w/ Ian, a herp vet is in order. you can also try using a plain sailine eye wash on the eye to try to keep it clean and moist until you can find a herp vet
