There are 20 of them that are ours. Someone asked why import them? For the new genetics, they are unrelated to any dragons in the United States. 9 of them are for a research project I want to do and only dragons unrelated to anything in the US can be used.
Most the others will be placed with breeders in 1-2 months, hopefully to strengthen the gene pool in their lines. When I am done with the research project, those also will be placed but for two I will keep.
I just checked them and they are all doing good and eating their morning salad. I will keep all of them at least a month to make sure there are no problems from shipping and they are eating and growing well.
They came from Germany, they are F1 offspring from parents imported to Germany, they are not German Giants. I think we had only told 4 individuals and one large breeder about them, those we planned on offering one too, and all of those only after the babies had hatched and we were sure we had them promised to us and their date of arrival. So many things could have gone wrong, and a few did, especially the transit time...... if I do this again, we will make some changes in how they arrive here and NOT use the same exporter again.
Lots of little mouths to feed, most have eat salads, pellets or crickets and all are drinking good, lol they fight to get at the eyedropper with diluted pedialite.
Hope that answers all the questions!
