Unexpected Geck Action! - PG13

Christy Talbert Jul 04, 2007 02:14 PM

Hi all,

A year ago at Daytona I bought Cola, a beautiful girl gargoyle gecko. I'd never had a geck and it was love at first sight. This spring I bought another girl - a retic pattern, but I could not find a boy.

David at DS reptiles hooked me up with this little boy. He arrived yesterday - and because I only have one geck cage and I knew his history, I put him with my two. Never did I expect this...but they've been hooked up for hours!

(Cola the girl is in shed she's a beautiful striped animal!).

Thanks for looking and thanks for the great Gecko, David. Your het ghosts just had their first meal!

I say separate that little male...too much a chance one or both females may decide to pick on him. He is too small to be with adult females for a long period of time.

Gargoyles are known to be fairly cannibalistic. Smaller gargoyles are very often eaten by larger ones. I'd separate them until he's a little bit bigger and more likely to be a mate, and not dinner.

Good luck!

Out of the few gecko species I like..gargoyles are one of them

that’s grate Christy and I do agree with the others ,after they separate I would put him in a different cage ,he needs to double in size before he is left in with them full time and unattended . Thanks David of DS Reptile Rescue
