molding Amel eggs

Ecosense Aug 18, 2003 08:59 AM

I've had a terrible weekend! Two of the four fertile eggs have a touch of white mold. The mold is growing on two of three eggs that are stuck together in a mass. The mold is growing on the upper surface of the eggs, in areas that were discolored when they were layed. The eggs still seem to be developing despite their current condition. I've read the posts that say moldy eggs never hatch. Should I sacrifice the two bad eggs to save the good one?

Perplexed,

Bob

Leave them be. Ive had some of the nastiest looking eggs hatch healthy specimens. I keep Sphagnum moss on top of my eggs as they inhibit mold/fungus growth due to its acidity.

I'm using spag moss on top as per your earlier advice. I'll quit fretting.
