Hey all - just curious as I've never done this before - but I take it that bread crumbs would be fine to mix into the bluey food to thicken it up right?

Blotch,
We use lots of things for thickening: rice; oatmeal; cooked barley; flax meal (in small portions); even cooked small pasta (like the alphabet soup stuff).
As long as it has nutitional value, what harm can it be? While we don't use white bread - we certainly would share some of our whole-grained stuff with them. But drying it and crumbling it may be more work than cooking up some rice (brown or wild too) or some tiny pasta.
Another thing the blueys love is sweet potatoes or squash. That will thicken most any meal.
Here is another tip - once you mix a batch, if you have made too much, freeze in an ice-cube tray. Then pop the "food cubes" and put in a good freezer bag. Thaw how many you may need for a serving. It keeps for a few weeks that way if needed.
Hope that helps some.

I use sphagetti squash. It chops up easily and is very nutritious.

Thx guys.
Just out of curiosity - what happened to you guys on BTS.net? You used to be regs, now I never see you there! I recently got banned for the most rediculous reasons!

Blotch,
While I certainly cannot speak for Morgan - there are many reasons we don't go there.
Our blueys like butternut squash, spaghetti squash; acorn squash, even zuccini. Squash is gooooood stuff.
Our collection grew to over 40 (4 new ones in the past week), so one big spaghetti squash barely feeds them all.
Take good care,
Morgana
I always recc for beginners to visit that site. I truly appreciate what Zach has done for this animal through his site. I just had conflicts with certain regulars on their forums.
As far as info... it is the best resource out there for bluey owners.
