The minimum recommended enclosure size for a single adult is 4' x 2' so it should be fine.

I agree with "Quick Draw McGraw" here. Size wise, it would be fine.

My only concern is whether or not having only a piece of wood seperating them would keep either one of them from going crazy trying to get to the other. I've never kept any that close so I don't know. Perhaps Quick Draw knows. Ha!

Have a good one!

Maybe a sturdy wall with a "Kennedy" tunnel would be best.

Boys and Girls terrariums next to each other, boys and girls enclosures next to each other, boys and girls together in one enclosure. All seem to work for me.

Worst thing is when a male can see a female but can't get to her. I think he'd hurt himself trying. Oh and it might freak him out is she is a real noisy scratcher.

Dividing the cage into two 4'x2'x2' sections will be fine for two bearded dragons. However, you will have to make sure the divider is very secure, males will tear flimsy dividers down to get at a female and even vise versa. The divider should also run from floor to ceiling, with no gaps, bearded dragons can jump, if they so choose, though they won't win any long distance jumps.

However, as Hillbilly mentioned, the scent of a female so close may drive the male to distraction. If you don't plan to breed at all, it may be best to just get two females and house them with the divider. It is really hard to say how each will react to the other's smell.

uh i think the poster said he had a 4x4x2 cage that he was going to split, meaning it would end up being 2 2x2x2 cages for housing dragons. if the way i read it is correct, that is not enough room for a single adult dragon. minimum is 4x2x2 for each adult

Ummm. Recheck your math. lol. A 4 x 4 makes (2) 4 x 2's or (4) 2 x 2's. A 4 x 4 is 16 sq. ft. a 2 x 2 is 4 sq. ft. so there is 4 of them in a 4 x 4.

4x4 floor space, 2' of height...You can simulate this easily by getting a piece of paper, make a square on it that is 4"x4" (inches) and fold it in half. YOu will see you have a cage that is still 4' long but is only half as wide now.
