07 White Group Hypos!!!

BROWNSBOAS Jul 05, 2007 06:49 PM

I picked up a 1.2 group of these from my good buddy Jesse Van Atta. I have to say that I am nothing but impressed with these guy/gals so far. They are not ghosts, they are hypos, but there is certainly something else going on with these, what? we don't know yet, but I can wait to do some crosses with them. They should make some of the most amazing ghosts, snows and moonglows the world has seen!!!

Love that male. The speckling patches just around the color on the dorsal pattern makes those very unique and they have a highly desirable look too

is there any yellow in that first one? that could be a very cool project. can't wait to see what the outcome of those are.

I don't think they are Axanthic if that is what you are getting at. I do think there is some type of color changing gene in them. What that is I don't know. I don't see yellow in them, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. It may be another form of reccesive hypomelanism, but only more breeding trials will shed some light on that. The one thing I do know is they are different and that is why I bought in on the project. The adults Jesse had, had not changed color from the time they where babies. They looked almost exactly the same as after there first sheds. These are the first F2 animals produced from this bloodline. I have managed to pickup another F1 animal that was from Jesse's first breeding of his Red Group male to the matriarch of these guy/gals so I definitely feel I have a good project on my hands. If Jesse sees this maybe he can put up the link to pixs of this years litter and litters past! And shed a little more light on the subject!

well i was hinting at that for that first male, but you are right, could just be that it has real low yellow. i really hope that he posts the adults too, they look awesome. good luck with that project.
